NEW RACEMASTERS AFX TRI POWER PACK
The new Racemasters (USA) AFX Tri Power pack is now on sale in the USA. The Tri Power pack is a solid state electronic transformer with three power settings : Beginner (8 volts), Intermediate (12 volts), Expert (22 volts). The new adjustable Tri Power Pack is regulated, filtered, rated at one amp, and come's with a standard Tomy AFX plug. Unfortunately the Tri Power Pack is a USA only release at this stage.

NEW RACEMASTERS TOMY AFX MEGA G DEBUTS AT I HOBBY SHOW
The finalised version of the new Racemasters Tomy AFX Mega G chassis made its debut at the I Hobby Expo in the USA in late October. The following photos show the chassis that will be released towards the end of the year.

AUSTRALIAN HO RACING ASSOCIATION INCORPORATED SEEKS HO RACER FEEDBACK
AHORA Inc is interested in feedback from HO Racers interested in attending, or organising, AHORA Inc sanctioned State or National Championships in 2008.
At this stage AHORA Inc is looking for feedback in regard to the following :
- Where would you like a State or Australian Championship to be held (taking into consideration that travel costs are higher today compared to the past few years)?
- How far would you travel to compete in a State or Australian Championship?
- What classes would you like to see (refer to the AHORA Inc website for classes), and which would you compete in?
- How many other racers do you know that would attend?
Please note that to organise / compete in an AHORA Inc sanctioned State or Australian Championship you must be a member of AHORA Inc. Membership is just $5 a year (1/7/08 to 30/6/09). Membership Forms are available on the AHORA Inc website.
Being a member of AHORA Inc also entitles the member to a 10% discount on For Sale products listed at www.ozhoslotcars.com
Mad Max Motorplex (Kempsey NSW : Rod & Karen Thurgood) have expressed an interest in staging the 2008 AHORA Inc sanctioned Australian HO Slot Car Championships on November 6/7 however there has been little racing at the venue in recent times meaning the decision to go ahead would be based on feedback from interested out-of-town racers. TOMY PANOZ DP01 BODY / MEGA G CHASSIS GETS CLOSER TO RELEASE DATE
Below are the latest shots of the Racemasters (USA) designed Tomy Panoz DP01 body (and Mega G chassis) as the combination gets closer to its release date later in the year. Drivers helmet visor will be incorporated into the final design.

TOMY PANOZ DP01 PROTOTYPE BODY UNVEILED / MEGA G TESTS CONTINUE
Prototype shots of the new Panoz DP01 body on the new Mega G chassis have been released. Testing of the new chassis continues (with good results reported) while the prototype body shown below is tipped to see the nose and body possibly lowered further on the finished product, with some further minor body strengthening also tipped.

PANOZ DP01 BODY PREVIEW
Racemasters in the USA have shown off these rough samples of the Panoz DP01 body for the Mega G chassis when it is released. These samples are resin with the roll bars glued on etc. The finished product will be in the usual Tomy AFX plastic with detailed driver figures etc etc.

MEGA G TAKE 2
Racemasters in the USA continue to develop and test the new Mega G chassis ahead of its planned late 2008 release. The three photos above show version 2 that it now being tested.

Racemasters, the US Distributors of the Tomy AFX Slot Car range, are set to release a new chassis late in 2008. The new 'Mega G' chassis has been designed in order to accomodate a new line of scale bodies, that will comence with the Panoz Champ Car. The 'Mega G' has a 1.7 inch wheelbase compared to the 'Super G+' 1.5 inch wheelbase and is 24% lighter than the 'Super G+' chassis. The 'Mega G' utilises a new pickup shoe / brush assembly, is 14% narrower than a 'Super G+', and will incorporate removable neo traction magnets. A second version of the 'Mega G' will be released in 2009 that will feature a 1.5 inch wheelbase and allow bodies from the existing Tomy AFX range to be fitted. The new 'Mega G' is currently in the pre-production stage and will untertake rigourous testing before being released into the marketplace. The final version may differ slightly from the pre-production version pictured here.

EXCITING RELEASE PLANNED FOR TOMY AFX RANGE
Racemasters, the US distributors of the Tomy AFX HO Slot Car range, have some exciting releases in store for late in 2008. First off the block (around July) are several new colourschemes for existing body styles:
GT40 #11 : yellow : Graham Hill : 1966 Lemans
GT40 #6 : blue with yellow : Mario Andretti : 1966 Lemans
Daytona Coupe #13 : blue with white stripes : Bondurant : 1965 season
The biggest news however is the release of a totally new low profile chassis that will allow ultra low bodies to be fitted. The first body out of the moulds is set to be the Panoz DP01 Champ Car (pictured above in a large scale mock up). This body is said to sit 30 percent lower (compared to existing Tomy F1 style bodies) on the chassis. Stay tuned for a release in late 2008!

NEW AFX RELEASES IN AUSTRALIA
Hitting the shop shelves in Australia in the lead up to Christmas 2007 were the four new Champ Car Super G+ cars. The biggest surprise release however was the 4 X Ford GT40 cars, that went on sale just prior to Christmas. These bodies were only released on the SRT chassis in the USA, but in Australia they have been released on the new (grey) Super G+ chassis.
